We conventionally call her Violeta. She is afraid to show her face, but not to tell us her story.
It all started more than ten years ago when she met her husband. As in more such stories, everything was fine at the beginning, until at some point, bullying, mental and physical, became part of her daily life.
She would come home and start arguing, today where did you go, what did you do, why did you go there, when did you come back. An argument starts between us and insults.
All these years Violeta believed she could manage on her own, and today she says the hardest part was realizing the need for help and seeking it.
I keep saying, I'll be quiet, he'll be fine. I've worried, I haven't shared, who to get help from.
I would tell all women who have a similar fate to mine to seek help, there is nothing to be silent about, to break free and truly be free.
Violeta managed to get out of the nightmare she lived in for years a few months ago, and today she dreams of only one thing - to continue her life free from the shackles of violence.
